Ruta del Califato

La Ruta del Califato

Un camino que une Córdoba y Granada, dos de las ciudades más bellas de España, una ruta entre Sierra Morena y Sierra Nevada, un viaje entre la Mezquita y la Alhambra, monumentos declarados Patrimonio Mundial.


La Ruta del Califato es un viaje al pasado, son unos 200 kilómetros de caminos por los que pasaron romanos y musulmanes, el itinerario más transitado de la Península Ibérica en la Edad Media que unía la Córdoba capital del califato, antes romana y también judía, con Granada, capital del reinado musulmán nazarí, reino que cultivó las ciencias y la arquitectura a niveles desconocidos.


Ruta de comunicación del valle del Guadalquivir hasta la vega granadina a los pies de Sierra Nevada, pasando por tierras de Jaén o viceversa. Castillos, torres vigías, fortalezas, alcazabas, molinos, mezquitas, fuentes, silos, acequias, almazaras, calzadas romanas, iglesias… gozar de los sentidos en las tierras de fronteras y del paisaje único que nos ofrece el Parque Natural de las Sierras Subbéticas.


Una ruta turística que une las capitales mundiales del Al-Andaluz Califal y Nazarí, pioneras en conocimiento, artesanía o literatura, eran los núcleos urbanos más importantes de la época, de los caminos más transitados y donde acudían mercaderes de todo el mundo, soldados, peregrinos, científicos, artistas, astrónomos, médicos…que se adelantaron en siglos al Renacimiento Europeo
Actualmente la Ruta del Califato une Córdoba con Granada pasando por la provincia de Jaén a caballo de las carreteras N-432, N-311 y A-339.


Paisaje de ondulaciones suaves en la campiña y de alturas en las Sierras Subbéticas o la Sierra de Huétor, con fuertes cerros sobre los que se asientan pueblos con su función defensiva por la que fueron fundados y que no pueden negar su pasado andalusí, que ocupa un territorio que separaba al final de la Edad Media le España cristiana de la musulmana.


Ruta natural y cultural, de gastronomía y artesanía local, que une la campiña cordobesa, con la que los Omeyas quedaron prendados y la vega granadina, en la que una dinastía, la de los  Alhamares quedó cautivada, en medio tierras de olivos centenarios, viñas, encinas, huertos, arroyos, tierra calma, salpicado todo con encalados cortijos, para llegar hasta sus pueblos, bellos, señoriales y por supuesto blancos.


Itinerario cultural europeo, viaje por Andalucía, lleno de aceite puro de oliva virgen, de baile y cante flamenco, de vino fino que presenció la guerra entre César y Pompeyo, de tradiciones agrícolas, inmensos campos verdes de cereal, salmorejo, flamenquín, piononos y alfajores, amalgama de tradiciones cristianas y musulmanas en un ambiente puro andaluz.
La Ruta del Califato es en definitiva una invitación a disfrutar apasionadamente de cultura, gastronomía, paisaje e historia.

Al Ándalus

Al AndalusSe conoce como al-Ándalus (árabe الأندلس) al territorio de la Península Ibérica y de la Septimania bajo poder musulmán durante la Edad Media, entre los años 711 y 1492.

Tras la invasión musulmana de la península, al-Ándalus se integró inicialmente en la provincia norteafricana del Califato Omeya, para más tarde convertirse en un emirato y posteriormente en un califato independiente del poder abasí.

Con la disolución del Califato de Córdoba en 1031, el territorio se dividió en los primeros reinos de taifas, periodo al que sucedió la invasión de los almorávides, los segundos reinos de taifas, la invasión de los almohades y los terceros reinos de taifas.

Con el avance de la Reconquista iniciada por los cristianos de las montañas del norte peninsular, el nombre de al-Ándalus se fue adecuando al menguante territorio bajo dominación musulmana, cuyas fronteras fueron progresivamente empujadas hacia el sur, hasta la toma de Granada por los Reyes Católicos en 1492, que puso fin al poder islámico en la península Ibérica, aunque aún quedaban musulmanes viviendo en la Península
