Catedral de GranadaLa Catedral de Granada está considerada como la primera iglesia renacentista de España y como uno de los mayores exponentes de este orden artístico. Los Reyes Católicos mandaron su construcción en 1492 y se proyectó, en principio, siguiendo el modelo gótico de la Catedral de Toledo.

En 1528 Diego de Siloé se hizo cargo del proyecto y diseñó una nueva planta del templo al estilo renacentista español. Casi doscientos años después, en 1704, se finalizaron las obras. De las dos torres ideadas por Siloé sólo se inició la construcción de una, paralizándose en 57 metros de altura en lugar de los 81 previstos inicialmente. La fachada principal es una obra maestra barroca realizada por Alonso Cano en 1667.
